The SERENA (Search for Exospheric Refilling and Emitted Natural Abundances) instrument suite combines two neutral particle analysers with two ion spectrometers and provides a common interface to the MPO spacecraft. The combination of several measurements with related science goals in a single research team stimulates the concentration and networking of the scientific analysis. The common central unit ensures an efficient use of the limited resources on board.
The Consortium is lead by the Istituto di Fisica dello Spazio Interplanetario (IFSI). Its more than 100 members come from 34 reserach institutions in Europe, the USA, Japan, and China. The Consortium is headed by the Principal Investigator, who is assisted by a Science Advisory Board. A Co-Principal Investigator is associated to each of the four sensors.
Further information on SERENA is found at IFSI.
