At IWF Graz, one of the main research areas in analyzing and interpreting spacecraft data is the study of the dynamics of the Earth's and other planet's magnetotails, with special interest in the transport processes (pdf, 0.8 MB).
At the moment, the data analysis and physical interpretation concentrates on data from the Cluster and Themis spacecraft.
