Due to high return rates and due to the new solid state technology of the laser, the stability of the whole SLR system has also been improved significantly. This can be seen - as one of many examples - in the routine calibrations results. These calibration values differ from one calibration to the next most times only a few ps (below 1 mm).

Additionally, the improvement can be seen in the calibration statistics. With the 10 Hz laser and using 500 returns per calibration, the Peak-Minus-Mean values jittered 1-2 mm. With the new kHz laser system, and using 10.000 returns per calibration, it is stable at far below 1 mm.
