Experience space research up close! 18.04.2012

IWF is happy to invite you to the “Lange Nacht der Forschung” (Long Night of Research) which will take place on Friday 27 April 2012 from 4 till 11 pm.

A free shuttle bus will bring you to the Victor Franz Hess - Forschungszentrum (Schmiedlstraße 6, 8042 Graz) and the GVB bus lines 3 and 60 will bring you for free to the Lustbühel Observatory (Lustbühelstraße 46, 8042 Graz).

Successful Debris Tracking at IWF Graz 27.01.2012

The Graz SLR Station, operated by IWF on Lustbühel Observatory, is the first European station, which was able to track the orbits of more than 20 different rocket bodies. These laser measurements were made at distances between 500 and 1800 km with accurancies in the m-range.

IWF participates in astrophysical FWF key project 12.01.2012

Fundamental questions on the pathway to life and its astrophysical requirements will be addressed by a prestigious national research network led by Prof. Manuel Güdel, University of Vienna. The IWF scientists Maxim Khodachenko and Helmut Lammer are among the six subproject leaders of the recently approved FWF project with the title "Pathways to Habitability: From Disks to Active Stars, Planets to Life" (short "PatH").
